7 05 2010

On Friday, May 7, 2010, the University Archives & Historical Collections (UAHC) launched our new website!  Staff from the archives have been developing the site with the assistance of University Relations.  The new website has a greatly expanded records management section and explains in detail the services the UAHC offers to departments, faculty, and the general public.

From the new site you will be able to go directly to our blog, Facebook and Flickr pages.  We appreciate your comments and feedback.  If there is anything else you would like to see on our website, please let us know.

I am trying to find out how much it cost for tuition, room & board at MSU 1964-68. Any idea how I can find out?
Thank you,

Jim – for the 1963-64 year a Michigan resident could expect to pay the following fees per year: Tuition: $324; State News: $3.00; Student Gov’t Tax: $0.75; Board and Room: $786; and books $105 for a total of $1218.75.

MSU was on the quarter system at that time, so to figure out the cost per term, divide each amount by three.

By 1968-1969 prices had gone up a bit. Michigan residents could expect the following fees per year: Tuition: $552; State News: $3.00; Student Gov’t Tax: $1.50; Board and Room: $948; and books: $130 for a total of $1634.50.

Again, MSU was on the quarter system, so the per term fees could be calculated by dividing each amount by three.

If you need more information about this, please email us at archives@msu.edu and we can help you out. Thanks!
